Quality and inspection
Every shipment carries an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate with the heat number. Third-party inspection can be arranged before loading.
What "3.1 certificate" actually means
EN 10204 3.1 is issued by the manufacturer's own inspection department, and the certificate must be traceable to the heat. In practice that means three things you can check on arrival:
- Heat number on the product matches the certificate — stamped or labelled on the coil/plate edge.
- Chemistry is the full table, not only the grade name: C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Ni, Mo, N.
- Mechanical properties — yield, tensile, elongation — with the test standard stated (ASTM A240 or EN 10088-2).
Inspection points in the process
| Stage | What is checked |
|---|---|
| Incoming coil | heat number, thickness at three points, surface class to ASTM A480 |
| Slitting / cutting | width and length, burr height, squareness |
| Before packing | flatness, film adhesion, edge condition, quantity count |
| Before loading | third-party inspection (SGS / BV / Intertek) if requested |
Standards we work to
- ASTM A240 / A480 — US: plate, sheet and strip; tolerance and surface judged to A480.
- EN 10088-2 — EU: cold rolled and hot rolled flat products, with 3.1 certificates.
- GB/T 3280 / 4237 — China: cold rolled and hot rolled stainless plate.
- JIS G4305 / G4304 — Japan: cold rolled and hot rolled plate.
If your project specifies a standard we have not listed, tell us — we will confirm whether we can supply to it before quoting, rather than after.
